Job Summary
We are looking for an energetic Substitute Teacher to join our team! This position is working with children between 18 months and 6 years of age. Schedule can vary as this is an on-call position. Working hours would be 8:30 - 3:30.
You are passionate about learning and love working with children. With strong creative and organizational skills, you are able to connect with individual students and develop strong relationships with faculty to create an engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Help assistant classroom teachers with the running of the classroom.
- Supervise students in classrooms and on the playground.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- A year of previous teaching assistant experience preferred
- High-energy with a love of working with children
- Organized and detail-oriented
Compensation: $16.50 - $17.00 per hour
Established in 1973, our non-profit organization is devoted to promoting standards of excellence in Montessori education. With five staff members, Canandaigua Montessori School now serves a total of 50 children, ages 18 months through 6 years of age. We currently offer toddler, primary, and kindergarten programs. Our curriculum covers a variety of subjects including math, science, literature, the arts, history, social issues, and the study of technology. Weather permitting, our children will have ample time for outdoor physical activity and fun.
